hI ALL!
Hey y'all!
Slim aka Thunderbolt here.
I am attempting to convert the FCRD NC22 v1.1 to a gns physics.
I've watched the tutorial video so I think I know what needs to be done.
However, I don't seem to have a copy of the 2 utilities to accomplish.
Google search has not proven helpful.
Looking for makedat and datx
Can someone point me in the direction?
Much obliged.

Re: hI ALL!
If you can't get it let me know, I've done this so many times that it only takes me about 5 minutes to change physics.

Re: hI ALL!
Hey Bill!
Looks like I do need some assistance afterall.
In did what I thought was correct and tested. The mod showed up but couldn't see the cars.
I managed to fix that by adding to of the "make a " files to the root directory of mod. Presto cars are there.
However, when I attempt to use them in a race mode the game crashes. Indicates to me (I think) there is something wrong with
the mod dat file?
I used WinMip 2 to unpack and pack. I did note an error of some sort but it did create a dat file. The file created was smaller in size than the original so
maybe that's it?
I can try again using the make dat files you sent me.
I am uploading a screenshot of what I have done.
What I'm trying to do is make an FCRD NCS22 v1 into a GNS physic mod.
I'd add the dat file for you to look at but it doesn't seem to want me to.
I could email it to ya?
Thanks for any advice you have for me..
Slim

Re: hI ALL!
I think I know what went wrong . When you unpack the data file and rename all the 3dos to gns before packing it all back up again you need to edit the pck file and change all the instances of make_a to make_a_gns. You can edit the pck file with MS Word or any free programs that will read MS Word documents.

Re: hI ALL!
I don't have MS Word but I found a free program that will read the pck file, it's called OpenOffice and works great.

Re: hI ALL!
Thanks Bill for your patience and assistance as well as the file.
I see what you're saying as I am able to open the pck file with MS-Word.
I was not aware of that extra step.
Thanks again!!

Re: hI ALL!
Just an FYI I did get the files you made for me. Thanks!
I also re:did the steps to see if I could in fact make it work and I was successful.
So I get it now.
I currently have the NCS22 v1.1 mod in all 3 physics.
I am very much liking the GNS version as i find it suits my driving style and remains competitve when paired with the ratings formula I have switched to by Tyler Mallon.
The pck edit was not a step I was preiously aware of.
Thanks Bill for all your help. It is much appreciated.
